The Products

Natural Soil

Natural Soil is a nitrogen fixing, microbial formulation combined with natural enzymes, polysaccharides and polypeptides. Its intended use is to assist in the growth of nitrogen fixing micro-organisms and beneficial "native soil micro-organisms," to enhance and optimize the decomposition of animal and plant residues and aid in the building process of natural matter in the soil. It is totally organic, safe and non-toxic. Natural Soil is not a fertilizer or a replacement for a fertilizer or any soil element, macro-nutrient or micro-nutrient. It is a microbial, non-plant food product, that is extremely effective when used with small amounts of organic and/or inorganic fertilizers in a soil with adequate amounts of macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients.

When added to the soil, Natural Soil effectively initiates natural biological activities resulting in:

  • Accelerated development and reproduction of naturally occurring micro-organisms in the soil that increase populations of nitrogen-fixing and nitrifying bacteria thus improving "soil health."
  • Increased availability of trace minerals and other plant nutrients in a usable form.
  • Increased beneficial chemical activity which promotes higher exchange capacity of important plant nutrients within the soil solution.
  • Maintenance of, and/or improved soil natural matter content.
  • Increased earthworm population.
  • Improved soil surface structure that permits better water absorption through reduced surface crusting.
  • Increased rate of conversion of crop residues and formation of soil organic matter and humus.
  • Moderation of soil pH.
  • Increased availability of nitrogen to crops and plants through fixation of atmospheric nitrogen by micro-organisms, and promotion of other nitrogen sources for all crops.
  • Increased availability of phosphorous and potassium on a continuous and natural basis.
  • Reduced loss of NPK and other nutrients due to leaching.
  • Reduced contamination of ground water.

CLAY FRAGMENTOR-100% Natural soil penetrator

Natural Soil

Clay Fragmentor penetrates the soil more rapidly and deeply because it reduces the surface tension of the water. This permits the oxygen carrying water to penetrate deeper, enhances the development of deeper root systems and assists with the leaching of salts away from the root structure. The enzymes in Clay Fragmentor work in harmony with the soil micro-organisms, this reaction helps free up nutrients in the soil which makes it healthier by increasing the tilth(breaking the tight bonds of heavy clay) of the soil. The end result is looser soils, which will absorb and hold water more easily, thereby curbing excessive run off.

Transplanting

Natural Soil

Natural Soil is the ideal solution to use when transplanting trees, shrubs and plants.

Instructions for use

For transplanting trees and shrubs use 75ml of Natural Soil ® diluted in 4 litres of water for every 3" of caliper. Shake well before mixing.

Soak or spray the roots of the trees or shrub with 2 litres of the mixture (it is very important to soak the roots just prior to planting). Pour 1 litre of the mixture into the hole you are planting the tree or shrub in, after transplanting is completed, pour 1 litre around the base of the tree or shrub, then water a little to let the Natural soil soak into the soil and get to the roots.

For existing trees use the mixture and pour, 4 litres for every 3" of roots, around the base.

For flowers and potted plants dilute 150mls of Natural Soil in 8 litres of water and apply 200mls of the dilution on a 4" pot, 300mls on a 6" pot and 400mls on an 8" pot.

Compost Heaps

Natural Soil

Natural Soil's primary source of food is plant and crop residues from your garden or your farm.

Natrual Soil is the perfect microbial accleration for stimulating the decomposition process within compost heaps.

Dilute by adding 20 parts of water to 1 partNatural Soil concentrate.

Use at a minimum rate of 1 litre (diluted) to 1 cubic metre of compost.

As the decomposition rate is accelerated, nitrogen is lost and a little nitrogen should be added to the compost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Natural Soil

The following frequently asked questions are those based on the commercial aspect of Natural Soil and not the residential.

How Often Should I Apply Natural Soil?

Use Natural Soil as often as you normally fertilize your crops and plants during the growing season.

Should I use less nitrogen when applying Natural Soil?

Use Natural Soil in conjunction with your fertilizers but only use 25-50% of the nitrogen you would normally use when applying fertilizers.

EXAMPLE: If you fertilize your crop 3 times, then you must also use Natural Soil 3 times (including side dressing).

Fertilize 3 Times = Use Natural Soil 3 Times.

Are there crops that require 3 or more applications of Natural Soil per year?

Any crop whose growing season is over 4 months (such as bananas, fruit trees, sugar cane and grapes) require the application of Natural Soil at least every 3 to 4 months, in conjunction with an updated soil analysis.

Under what conditions should I not apply Natural Soil?

Do not apply Natural Soil when it is 4C or colder

What application methods can be used with Natural Soil?

Natural Soil can be:

  • Broadcast (sprayed).
  • Poured.
  • Introduced through drip irrigation, underground water systems and sprinkler systems.

Do not mix Natural Soil with a product containing any form of formaldehyde which severely hampers the effectiveness of the micro-organisms.

How can I ensure the best crop yield when using Natural Soil?

To ensure the best crop and yield, apply Natural Soil two weeks before planting seeds or seedlings. The reason for this is that the native soil micro-organisms will increase substantially and will not be competing with the plants for the existing nitrogen and carbon sources during early growth. Like plants, soil micro-organisms need nitrogen for growth. The life and death of the micro-organisms during this pre-planting period produce additional specific enzymes which are very beneficial to the plant's growth process, resulting in faster growth and germination of seedlings, seeds, flowering and fruiting of crops. However, good results will be obtained if Natural Soil is used at the same time as planting.

Should I turn the soil before applying Natural Soil?

Turning the soil before applying Natural Soil loosens it and will simply assist the micro-organisms in growing faster and larger in population. However, top soil can be lost in the process; plus, the disruption of the soil can cause imbalance in the soil. It is not necessary to "turn the soil" before or after application because the micro-organisms will take their proper places in the rhizosphere, depending on whether they are anaerobic or aerobic micro-organisms. Many farmers today are turning to the no-till farming method in order to retain top soil and rebuild natural matter in the soil.

What are the best conditions for applying our product?

Since micro-organisms, like plants, grow better and faster with water, if possible or practical:

  • Apply before or after a rain.
  • Apply when ground is damp, as in the morning when there is a dew or fog.
  • Apply during an overcast day.
  • Apply when the temperature is lower (such as ,early morning, at or before sunset, or in the evening).

Can I apply Natural Soil as a side-dressing or after the crop has started?

Yes, just as you use chemical nitrogen to side-dress, you can use Natural Soil. In most cases, if you apply the Natural Soil properly, you may not need additional soil nutrients. We recommend testing the soil for nitrogen to ascertain whether or not you need to apply it.

How much Natural Soil should be used for sidedressing?

If you applied Natural Soil before planting, then you may only need to use one-half as much per acre (20 litres) each time you side-dress or want to feed your crop nitrogen. Again, this should be determined by a soil analysis prior to application. (The reason for this is that the new application of Natural Soil will use the effluents of the old applications to proliferate faster). If you did not apply Natural Soil prior to planting, you must apply 40 litres per acre to assure proper growth and complete soil inoculation.

Is a single application of Natural Soil to my crops adequate?

Yes, in most cases, but you may want to experiment to determine the best use of Natural Soil by doing small side plots as recommended.

How is the product shipped?

The product is shipped in 20 litre plastic containers. For large orders such as a container load, it can come in 40-208 litre plastic drums.(8320 litres).

NOTE: The product is shipped in concentrated form, to dilute 100 parts of water are added, e.g. 1 litre concentrate = 100 litres of diluted product.
